In 1996 the late Pope John Paul II promulgated an Apostolic Exhortation entitled Vita Consecrata (on the Consecrated Life). In the introduction to this meaningful document, he calls our attention to the fact that in every age, there have been men and women, obedient to the Father’s call and to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, who have chosen a special way of following Christ in order to devote themselves to Him with an undivided heart.
