“Dear young people, do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away and gives you everything. When we give ourselves to Him we receive a hundred-fold in return. Yes, open wide the doors to Christ and you will find true life.” -- Pope Benedict XVI
Come and See Discernment Retreat
If you are a young single woman between the ages of 18 and 35, and would like to take some time to seriously discern if God may be calling you to the Religious Life, you are welcome to Come and See.
Upcoming Come and See opportunities with our Community:
Alhambra, California
May 21-24, 2012
In His merciful goodness God has graced our Institute with the Carmelite charism which has its roots in a long history and living tradition. The spirituality of St. Teresa and St. John of the Cross is rooted in this tradition. Carmel means “enclosed garden” in which God Himself dwells. The divine indwelling in the soul is the foundation of Teresa’s doctrine. Thus our vocation is a grace by which contemplation and action are blended to become an apostolic service to the Church.
Meet the Carmelite Sisters, glimpse into the life of Carmel, take time to pray with, recreate with, and learn more about the Sisters and their life of consecration.
For single women, between the age of 18 and 35, who would like to take some time seriously discerning if God may be calling them to the Religious Life. The week will be conducted at the Motherhouse of the Carmelite Sisters in Alhambra, California.
