7th Annual Hayden 5K Run, Family Walk, & Roll | March 14 | Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles

With much joy, Hayden Child Care Center of Santa Teresita announces its 7^th Annual Hayden 5K Run, Family Walk, & Roll which will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. (rain or shine). The 5K is co-sponsored by the City of Duarte. USATF Sanctioned, the 5k promotes a healthy lifestyle, sparks competition, and builds camaraderie for families and friends of all ages. The 5K is run on the scenic Royal Oaks Drive and the Duarte bike trail!

All are welcome to continue the fun following the race at our Family Fun Day. Activities include awards for top three female/male runners in each age category; a variety of vendors representing health, food and service-oriented organizations; delicious food; and enjoyable entertainment on the grounds of Santa Teresita until 1:30 p.m. This event will include many activities promoting health and well-being, including a Zumba class for adults and exercises for kids and a variety of vendors from the local area.

Participants / Donations: All are welcome – individual participants, professional and novice runners, and walkers.

We invite Santa Teresita Manor and the Good Shepherd Cottage residents to form a team (senior and two escorts) and enter our 5K. What a blessed day it will be to walk and assist your loved one with his/her wheelchair. It will be a day of family fun and celebration.

Include an extra $32 donation you can sponsor a Carmelite Sister or Hayden staff member to walk in the race or you may also donated in someone name. (In the case of surplus, donations will be added to the money raised.)

Teams: At registration time, you will be able to join a team, create a team for your organization, or register as an individual runner. The team which achieves the most registrant participation will receive official t-shirt recognition.

Race Fees: Early Registration ends February 28, 2014 (No refunds)

Now for the first time, we present Hayden 5K’s first Car Show!

Purpose:

Hayden Child Care is a non-profit organization located on the campus of Santa Teresita. Child care services provide affordable and quality education for children aged 2 – 6 during the school year and 2-10 during summer months. Children who attend Hayden Child Care are strengthened in their faith and in their foundational skills of physical development, social and emotional skills, creativity and imagination, academics, and play! Hayden students also support intergenerational activities with the residents at Santa Teresita, which is also a non-profit organization with a mission to be “At the Service of the Family for Life.” Services for seniors include assisted living and skilled nursing care. All netted funds will be used to enhance the programs and environment at Hayden Child Care Center and in general support of Santa Teresita.
